On December 10, 1993
at around 8.30 am, hunters discovered the body of this unidentified victim in a
mountainous area along Whiskey Springs Road, in Carlisle,
South Middleton Township,
Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, USA
about 200 feet off Whiskey Springs Road about half a mile north of the
York County line.
The victim was a young woman, approximately 18-25 years old, with blonde hair past the shoulders and
grayish-blue eyes. She was about 5'7" (170 cm) and between 120 and 135 pounds (55-60 Kgs).
She had a small x-shaped scar on the inside of her left forearm and a two-inch scar on the outside of
her left ankle. She also had a large seborrhea keratosis (growth of the outer layer of the skin) similar to a wart above her
right ear, just inside the hair line.
Her left earlobe had been
pierced seven times and her right earlobe once but all the piercings were healed.
Police recovered a clear contact lens with a prescription of 20/400 on the victim. With that prescription
the victim would have had great difficulties seeing without her contact lenses.
The victim also had expensive dental work that police have not been able to trace.
The victim was not fully clothed when found. She wore a hooded jersey who was traced to a New-York manufacturer
called Interim. According to police the jerseys were first shipped out in fall of 1993 and sold in Boscov's, Clover, John
Wanamaker and Strawbridge and Clothier stores in New-York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Washington DC and
Virginia.
The victim wore red polish on her fingernails and toenails.
The young woman was a victim of homicide. She had been sexually assaulted and strangled. Her body showed
no other sign of trauma. Toxicology test results showed no trace of drugs or alcohol in her body at the time of her death.
It is estimated that she was killed the day before she was found.
But according to a witness a woman fitting the victim's description was seen a few days before she was
located standing next to a Bronco type vehicle in the company of two men in the middle of Whiskey
Spring Road not far from where the victims body was found.
The vehicle is described as being similar to a Ford Bronco, two-tone in color with a white top and a
dark bottom. The vehicle had a spare tire hung on the back with a soft cover and was covered with mud.
The two men, who are considered as possible suspects, are described as follows:
First subject: white man, 35-40 years old, between 6'2" and 6'4", moustache, full beard, dark brown
or black hair. He was wearing a cap and a padded red plaid and black shirt/coat. He had something blue or black draped over
his left arm.
Second subject: white man, between 5'11" and 6'0", thin build, narrow hooked nose, light expressionless
eyes, thin scraggly beard, brown shoulder length scraggly hair. He was wearing a beige hip length jacket.
The body of the victim was buried on January 27, 1994
in Kutz Cemetery along Claremont
Road in Middlesex Township
under a simple brass marker reading "Jane Doe No. 24-275".
DNA from the victim is available for comparison.
